Lorri, may God comfort you in your time of grief and mourning. I pray the Spirit would bring scripture to your mind to comfort you in the weeks to come and help those Christians who are close to you to support you well during this time.
Thank you Bob for a faithful year of ministry and all your efforts to make resources available for those who counsel. Not many years ago, majoring in counseling was not an option for most bible colleges and seminary students. A recent survey of seminary grads from a prominent evangelical seminary indicated that they felt least prepared for the kinds of counseling needs they encountered in ministry. Thanks for your efforts to fill the void!

As a Biblical counselor who has been undergoing many difficulties for the last 7 years including the deaths of 3 family members who most likely did not know the Lord, the loss of the man I had hoped to marry, the loss of a church I considered my home & family & faithfully served for 15 years, the loss of my health including having to undergo 5 surgeries, enduring undiagnosed Meningitis, a MRSA infection & being misdianosed twice with having a brain tumor. I was comforted by the blog on 8 Puritan Helps For Coping With Affliction. So often well meaning Christians & even counselors forget God & their Bible & theology when people are looking for support in the midst of trials and affliction. This blog cuts right down to the Biblical truths that though we may be going through things that are unfathomable and beyond our understanding we serve a God who holds us in the palm of His hand, weep when we weep, saves our tears in a bottle, is faithful and true no matter our circumstances, desires our best and has promised to NEVER leave or forsake us. It is these things: God, His character and his Word alone that have gotten me through the last 7 years and it will be the same thing that gets me through my fathers memorial service tonight. I would appreciate your prayers.
I am excited to see this book in print! To God be the glory.

I’m anticipating all these chapters - a good looking book this this. But my question is, “which chapter seems to be missing”? How Biblical Counseling fits into and serves the great commission intrigues me.
